Big Brothers Big Sisters Task Force

Big Brothers Big Sisters is supported by volunteer Task Force groups, which act in an advisory capacity. Each county served by The Guidance Center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters Program has its own advisory group or Task Force. This ensures maximum participation of key stakeholders in each community served by the program. Task Force Members serve a three-year term. Task Force groups meet four times per year. In addition, an Annual Joint Task Force Meeting between all three counties is held in August.

The purpose of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Task Force groups is to support the operation and growth of the program in each county served. Responsibilities of the Task Force include:

  • Strategic planning to promote continuous quality improvement, program growth, and development
  • Assist in development and execution of marketing and public relations activities
  • Assist in planning fundraisers and securing funding to support the program
  • Assist in planning and facilitating volunteer recruitment events
  • Organize and conduct group activities for program participants
